ADMIRAL'S BRAID. This is such a beautiful white. I have used it in so
many crosses because it does indeed transfer its beautiful gold edge
to new plants. It is a classic. $20

AGELESS BEAUTY. $80

ATLANTA FULL HOUSE. This plant is a total dormant and so I wanted
to use it as a parent. I tried over and over to use it as a "seed
parent," but I could never set seeds on it. So, I called Ms. Petree,
the lady who introduced it, and asked her if the plant was fertile.
She said that she had not been able to use it as a seed parent, but
that the pollen would produce seeds on other plants. So I have used
this plant many times as a pollen parent. The flower is just beautiful
and is perfect in form. $10

 |
AWSOME CANDY. When Patrick Stamile introduced this plant he must
have been so pleased with himself. Seeing this plant bloom just can
make your whole day! $35
|
 |
BARBARA MITCHELL. Has there ever been a better diploid than BARBARA
MITCHELL? Perhaps there have been, but certainly there are not many
that are better. This is just such a tremendous pink with petals and
sepals that recurve. $10
|
 |
BETTY WOODS. Here is another classic diploid that is a double. When
Kirchhoff first introduced this, there were just no other equals. I
consider it to be so special that I have it planted in the front of
my best bed of daylilies. $15

BRUSHED WITH EMERALD. In February of 2001 I called Larry Grace at
his home in Dothan, Alabama, and I asked him to hold this plant for
me to pick up in early April. When I finally did get the plant it had
grown so much and I now have seven fans. I have used its pollen in hybridizing
and I am waiting to see the results. $35

 |
CINCINNATI BLUES. This plant is a cross between STRAWBERRY CANDY
and ADMIRAL'S BRAID. I made so many seedlings from this cross, but this
is the only plant that I kept. It has a lovely light vanilla color,
with a purple eye and edge. Just outside the edge is a beautiful ring
of gold. The throat is green. I named this daylily after an insurance
company. The company forced me to go to trial in a small case, I had
a terrific outcome, and so I just thought I would make the case a part
of my garden. This plant will be lovely in any garden. $15.00.

DIANA'S PINK GOWN. This is a stunning cross between ED BROWN and
PEARL HARBOR. I did not make the measurements so that the plant could
be registered this winter, but I will make the registration this coming
summer. I will say, however, that the plants have a good height, the
flowers are large, the pink is really pink, and the gold edge is really
big. I named the plant after a gown I saw my wife wearing when she was
about age 16. She was beautiful, the gown was beautiful and so is this
beautiful daylily. I have only 17 plants. $40.00

EBONY JEWEL. sold out

ED BROWN. This is a Salter plant that was introduced only a few
years ago and is just a tremendous plant for the hybridizer. I have
used ED BROWN to make so many seedlings, and I expect that this plant
will continue to be tremendously useful to anyone who wants to grow
new plants. It is a pink plant with a tremendous gold edge. It is pod
fertile, and its gold edge is passed to seedlings. $25
|
 |
FRANCIS OF ASSISI. When we went to the national daylily convention
in Boston we saw this plant and we just had to have it. It is so striking
because it is a burgundy red with a white edge. The contrast in these
colors just make the plant so pleasing to see. $25

 |
GENTLE SHEPHERD. No one, other than Patrick Stamile, has ever produced
a flower that is as close to pure white. In my opinion this is the best
diploid white that has ever been produced. (display)

 |
INDIAN GIVER. I understand that this plant is said to be a semi-evergreen,
but for me it is a total dormant. But whether it is dormant or semi-evergreen
just is not an issue. The only thing that matters to me is the beautiful
purple color with the white and lavender edge on both the petals and
sepals. I am in the process of trying to convert this diploid to a tetraploid
so that I can use it to pollinate other tetraploids. I will let everyone
know if I am successful. $25
|
 |
J. T. DAVIS. Here is another plant that I purchased from Larry Grace.
In my opinion it is absolutely the best yellow that I have ever seen.
I have three fans and by the end of the summer of 2003 I hope to have
at least nine fans, and then I can offer it for sale. $125

JOHN PEAT. $75

KELLEY'S YELLOW DRESS. My daughter Kelley Rae asked me about naming
a plant for her, and I was delighted that she asked. My favorite daylily
color is yellow and I have tried for at least four years to get a really
good yellow. When I saw this daylily bloom I named it for Kelley and
a yellow dress that I saw her wear to Church at Easter. The height of
the plant is 26 inches and the flowers measure 5 inches. The height
of the scape is 26 inches. It is an evergreen and it reblooms. Anyone,
anywhere would love this daylily. It is a cross between BETTY WARREN
WOODS and SOMETHING WONDERFUL. $20.00
|
 |
MADGE CAYSE. I bought this daylily directly from the Joiner family
in Savannah, Georgia, about seven years ago. It is one of my best diploid
doubles that is a total dormant. It is an apricot color and for me it
blooms during the middle and later parts of the growing season. (display)

 |
MAGIC AMETHYST. When Stamile first introduced this plant it was
one that I could not do without. I bought it and I have used it with
so many other plants as both a pod and pollen parent. If you like the
color of lavender, then this is a plant that you also cannot do without.
$25

MICHAEL MILLER. This is the best tetraploid white with a gold edge that
I have ever seen. When Diana and I saw it blooming in Patrick Stamile's
garden during the spring of 2001, we were astonished. We had to wait to
receive it later during the late fall of 2001. I now have three fans and
I can only show this beautiful plant, but, oh, what a show it is! $100
