PASTOR LAURIE ANN MOELLER. Tet. 29” Sev EMRe 6” 20 buds. This is a cinnamon peach blend with a nicely ruffled edge and green throat. It is a cross between MOON OVER MONTERAY and a Larry Grace Seedling. It is my best new plant this year! When it first bloomed in the garden Pastor Laurie noticed it and told me she liked it very much. So, the flower was named for her. I must note that the first several blooms are 8 inches, then they are seven inches, and for the remainder of the summer the blooms are six inches and above in diameter. I have had considerable success in using PASTOR MOELLER as a parent of new seedlings. It is just a gorgeous, must have flower. $100

MARY CHAPMAN HOWARD. Tet. 28” Sev EMRe 5” 15 buds. This is a pink with a gold edge above a yellow and green throat. It is a cross between ED BROWN and TAOS. Although this daylily is a semi-evergreen, it is close to being a dormant. It is also notable that the petal and sepals on MARY CHAPMAN HOWARD recurve such that the flower sometimes seems round in appearance. This daylily was named when Mary Chapman Howard and Harold McDonell visited out garden. Harold mentioned that Mary really liked the new pink seedling, and so it was decided to name the seedling for Mary. Notably, Harold is the hybridizer who brought us MARY’S GOLD and it was named for Mary Chapman Howard. $35

A STRIKE FOR MARGIE. Tet. 25” Dor. Mre 5” 15 buds. This is a beautiful pink that is just tough. It has been growing in South Dakota for two years, and if it can grow there, it can grow anywhere. I named it for my wife’s mother, Margie Giessinger. Margie loves bowling and so I named the flower A STRIKE FOR MARGIE. It is also a cross between ED BROWN and TAOS. The further north you live the more important the need to have this tough, hard dormant daylily. Also, I should report that I crossed A STRIKE FOR MARGIE with TET. SILOAM RALPH HENRY and the result was a gorgeous white seedling with plenty of green across the eye of the flower. $35

JOY FILLS MY HEART: Tet. 22" Dor. EMRe 25 buds. This beautiful yellow and green daylily does fill my heart with joy! It is the only plant I kept from over a hundred seedlings from the same parents. It is a cross between KATHLEEN SALTER and ATLANTA FULL HOUSE, and like ATLANTA FULL HOUSE, it is only pollen fertile. In other words, it is not pod fertile. However, it is dormant and so it should grow in colder climates and do well. $35.00

RED SKIES OVER KENNESAW MOUNTAIN: Tet. 29" Sev EMRe 5" 12 buds. This beautiful red daylily is tall and is very noticeable in the garden. It has a lovely green throat, and on every scape there is a naturally appearing proliferation. So, the proliferations can be grown and the plant can be multiplied quickly. The parents are DERRICK CANE and PEARL HARBOR. It is pod and pollen fertile. $25.00

CINCINNATI BLUES. This plant is a cross between STRAWBERRY CANDY and
ADMIRAL'S BRAID. I made so many seedlings from this cross, but this
is the only plant that I kept. It has a lovely light vanilla color,
with a purple eye and edge. Just outside the edge is a beautiful ring
of gold. The throat is green. I named this daylily after an insurance
company. The company forced me to go to trial in a small case, I had
a terrific outcome, and so I just thought I would make the case a part
of my garden. This plant will be lovely in any garden. $15.00.

DIANA'S PINK GOWN. This is a stunning cross between ED BROWN and PEARL
HARBOR. I did not make the measurements so that the plant could be registered
this winter, but I will make the registration this coming summer. I
will say, however, that the plants have a good height, the flowers are
large, the pink is really pink, and the gold edge is really big. I named
the plant after a gown I saw my wife wearing when she was about age
16. She was beautiful, the gown was beautiful and so is this beautiful
daylily.. $35.00

KELLEY'S YELLOW DRESS. My daughter Kelley Rae asked me about naming
a plant for her, and I was delighted that she asked. My favorite daylily
color is yellow and I have tried for at least four years to get a really
good yellow. When I saw this daylily bloom I named it for Kelley and
a yellow dress that I saw her wear to Church at Easter. The height of
the plant is 26 inches and the flowers measure 5 inches. The height
of the scape is 26 inches. It is an evergreen and it reblooms. Anyone,
anywhere would love this daylily. It is a cross between BETTY WARREN
WOODS and SOMETHING WONDERFUL. Sold Out

KENNESAW MOUNTAIN DARKNESS. This is a beautiful red that is a cross between MIDNIGHT RAIDER and PEARL HARBOR. Can you see the small yellow edge on the petals? Can you see that the petals overlap each other? The throat is both gold and green. It seems to me that if you cross a solid colored plant like a dark purple MIDNIGHT RAIDER, with another plant that has a strong gold edge like PEARL HARBOR, you will likely have plants that have a gold edge. Also it seems that dark purple crossed with a light cream often produces red colors. KENNESAW MOUNTAIN DARKNESS is a red that has considerable growth potential as a pod or pollen parent $15.00

KENNESAW MOUNTAIN MOCHA LATTE. Dip. 25” Dor. EM 5” 12 buds. This daylily has a cinnamon self with a rose band that circles a beautiful, large lime throat. Although I have called it a cinnamon colored flower, some gardeners could call the flower brown. However, it is the beauty of the rose band and the large lime throat that really distinguishes the flower. It is a cross between MOUNTAIN ALMOND and SILOAM VIRGINIA MILLER. I am trying to convert the flower to a tetraploid, but it is certainly a flower to use to create beautiful diploid seedlings. $15

KENNESAW MOUNTAIN MOONLIGHT Tet. (Sherry Lane Carr x Splendid Touch) This is a truly dormant daylily. It goes completely below ground in the winter and does not return until the early spring. The height of the plant is 28 inches, and it usually has three branches and about twenty buds. It is very fragrant, it opens early and reblooms. The color is soft gold with a light peach blend. I have this flower growing in the garden of my mother in law, Ms. Margie Giessinger in Milbank, South Dakota. Since it grows well in Margie’s garden, then surely it will grow well anywhere. Sold Out

KENNESAW MOUNTAIN SUNRISE Tet. (Splendid Touch x Hidden Riches) Since the name of my daylily garden is partly named after Kennesaw Mountain, I decided to use the name of the mountain in naming some of my new plants. This daylily makes me think of the sunrise that comes over Kennesaw Mountain. It is a gorgeous coral color with a most noticeable gold edge and green throat. It is 27 inches tall and has about twelve buds. It opens early and reblooms. Sold out

KENNESAW MOUNTAIN SUNSET Tet. (Ed Brown x Bill Norris) I had no idea what I might produce when I crossed Ed Brown and Bill Norris. When this daylily first bloomed I took many slides just to be sure that I had it documented. Even with this effort I still could not capture the beauty of the flower. It makes me think of the sun going down on a summer day. $15.00

THE HEAVENLY KINGDOM COMES Tet. (Hidden Riches x Pearl Harbor) When this daylily first bloomed I was so thrilled. It has a strong tangerine color with a heavy yellow gold edge with a green throat. It is 32 inches high, it has five branches and produces about 20 buds. It is an evergreen. I have used it as a parent for many plants that will bloom this summer. sold out |
