Early to mid-season blooms. 37" tall, 3-way branching, 30 buds, 4" flower. I wanted a blue-eyed daylily so I used a conversion of Elizabeth Salter's CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION. I know that everyone says that there is no blue color in daylilies, but, looking through my glasses, the blue in the eye of CARIBBEAN BLUE is as blue as the blue waters I've seen in the Caribbean Seas. CARIBBEAN BLUE has a green throat that quickly changes to a beautiful blue eye, and there is a burgundy edge around the blue eye. The blue color also appears on the interior of the sepals. Although evergreens are tender in north Georgia, CARIBBEAN BLUE nevertheless grew and survived just fine in our climate. Pod and pollen fertile.
