HEAVENLY SUNRISE
Bill Waldrop 2014
((Summer Hymns x J. T. Davis) x Ram)
Dormant. Tet. Mid to late season blooms. 32” tall, 5-way branching, 23 buds, 7” flower.
Looking back over this past summer this flower was the most exciting plant that I saw in my garden. Mid season came and so did the blooms. Over many years of looking at yellow daylilies, to my eye, this is the best that I have seen. One parent comes from Dan Trimmer, another parent is a Stout medal winner from Larry Grace, and perhaps the big contributor to size is Whatley's RAM. The substance of HEAVENLY SUNRISE is especially nice, and it is not particularly impacted by the summer heat. I picked the name HEAVENLY SUNRISE after thinking long and hard about the impression the flower has on me when I see it bloom. If you buy anything from me this year I would recommend that you include this magnificent plant. Pollen fertile and a difficult pod parent.
