IRISH CROWN

Bill Waldrop 2014

[(Leslie Renee x Angels Gather Around) x (Leslie Renee x Angels Gather Around)]
Sev. Leaning to dormancy. Tet. Early to mid-season blooms.

I've been asked by friends about this year's "green edged" introduction. Well, here it is: IRISH CROWN. It is a bitone. The Petals are a royal purple, and the sepals are a lighter shade of the same color. It has an ivory colored halo around its throat. Then there is a distinct green color in the throat, and an even more distinct band of greed edges around the petals. The name IRISH CROWN was suggested several years ago by my friend David Williams. Thanks David for the name. Pollen fertile, but a difficult pod parent.
