Kelley's Valentine

KELLEY'S VALENTINE

Bill Waldrop 2010

[(Cherry Valentine x Crazy Ivan) x Crazy Ivan]
Tet. Sev.,Early to mid-season blooms. 22” tall, 3-way branching, 15 buds, 5” flower.

The first two Daylily Clubs that I visited in the fall of 2009 were the Chattahoochee Valley Daylily Society and the Arkansas State Daylily Society. When I showed my picture of KELLEY'S VALENTINE, both Daylily Clubs were excited about this new daylily. By combining Cherry Valentine and Crazy Ivan I achieved my goal of creating a deep colored eye and edge. The deep green throat gives way to a bright red eye, and then this eye becomes a red edge on the petals. The self is a light strawberry color. I've named KELLEY'S VALENTINE for my daughter Kelley Rae. She likes Valentine gifts! Pod and pollen fertile.
