LEMON CURLS
Bill Waldrop 2010
(Seedling x Heavenly Angel Ice)
Dip. Dormant. 42” tall, 4-5 way branching, 38 buds, 5 1/2” flower. Unusual form. Early blooms and it continues to bloom.
This is Diana's first introduction, and it has a number of distinct features. The first distinct feature is the curling of the sepals. This curling is like a tightly wound wood shaving that might be produced by a carpenter's plane or chisel. The second distinct feature is that the floral segments have a pinwheel feature, and are perfectly formed. The third distinct feature is that the scape is extremely strong, and does not bend as sometimes happens with unusual form diploids. This daylily holds it shape all day, every day! Its green throat becomes a bright, alluring lemon color later in the day. This is why Diana named her new daylily LEMON CURLS. Pod and pollen fertile.
