MARY CHAPMAN HOWARD

Bill Waldrop 2006

(Ed Brown × Taos)
Tet. 28" Sev EMRe 5" 15 buds.

This is a pink with a gold edge above a yellow and green throat. It is a cross between ED BROWN and TAOS. Although this daylily is a semi-evergreen, it is close to being a dormant. It is also notable that the petal and sepals on MARY CHAPMAN HOWARD recurve such that the flower sometimes seems round in appearance. This daylily was named when Mary Chapman Howard and Harold McDonell visited out garden. Harold mentioned that Mary really liked the new pink seedling, and so it was decided to name the seedling for Mary. Notably, Harold is the hybridizer who brought us MARY'S GOLD and it was named for Mary Chapman Howard.
